Weber Genesis E-310 Review
Fire up the barbies, as the Australians say! When you are well into prime barbecuing season you want to make sure that you have a good grill capable of handling your burgers and brats. If you like cooking with gas, the three-burner Weber Genesis E-310 is not only a great grill to use, but is unsurpassed in value. When one considers the price tag of this machine in relation to the convenience and reliability it brings to the table, there really is little wonder why the Weber Genesis E-310 is the highest selling Weber gas grill throughout the world.

Weber Genesis E-310 Features:
- 3 stainless-steel burners (38,000 BTU);
- Total cooking area of 637 square-inches (507-square-inch primary, 130-square-inch warming rack);
- Porcelain-enameled cast-iron cooking grates, enclosed cart, and porcelain-enameled shroud with a thermometer;
- porcelain-enameled flavorizer bars; porcelain-enameled heat deflectors, and six tool hooks;
- 2 heavy-duty front locking casters and 2 heavy-duty back swivel casters.
With a sleek stainless steel finish, the Weber Genesis E-310 is both visually appealing and a great workhorse. One helpful feature that it has are the four wheels on the bottom. So often barbecue stands, especially the nicer ones, only have two wheels, which makes it difficult to move them around or transport them under cover if the weather becomes inclement.
It also sports six hooks for hanging all your weapons of mass supper-making, and porcelain covers nearly every other surface that’s not stainless, making it ideal for high temperature cooking. The steel itself is heavier than on many other grills, adding to its sturdiness. While it heats up quickly, the heat is evenly distributed so not only don’t you have to wait very long to be able to grill after you fire it up, the food gets cooked evenly, without that charred on the outside/raw on the inside effect that some other grills cause.
There are a lot of pieces to the Weber Genesis E-310, but it’s still not too difficult to set up (If you have any trouble there are some very helpful videos on Youtube that will guide you through the setup process). The natural gas hookups are also relatively simple to install and quick to find at the hardware store. Another nice thing about the natural gas feature is you don’t have to keep running back and forth to the store for more propane, or worse, get all ready to fire up the grill with hungry people surrounding you, only to discover that you’re out of propane and the store is already closed.
However, Weber also sells the propane gas grill as well, which can be handy if you don’t want your grill hooked up to a line, for example if you want to be able to take it to different locations. Their propane-using model is just as nice and sturdy as the natural gas one. 42,000 BTUs an hour is kind of impressive and will get the job done outstandingly.
The stainless steel is not only good looking, it also (being stainless) keeps rust from building up and rusting pieces together or looking old and damaged after being exposed to water. Another nice and helpful feature is the porcelain-enameled flavorizer bars. These bars help vaporize fats and meat juices, transforming them into smoke that smokes the meat and adds a lot of good flavor.
One of the handiest features is the ignition – it takes less than three seconds to fire up the burners, which is great. All in all the Weber Genesis E-310 is a really solid, sturdy and attractive grill. This alone is enough for it to secure our recommendation.
The Weber Genesis E-310 is a great grill, however its successor, the Weber Genesis E-320 has improved upon it, if only slightly (it’s difficult to improve on something that’s already almost perfect). So If you want to upgrade to something slightly more enhanced, albeit a little more expensive ($50 or so), check out our Weber Genesis E-320 Review.
