Over the years, depending on how much we could afford, we had a barbecue in one form or another. As a child I remember my Dad bending down over a little hibachi to cook, and in my post-grad college years I recall having a cheap-o flimsy barbecue. Did they get the job done? Well, yeah, kind of.

That is what I mean when I say that the quality of craftsmanship that goes in to making a Weber is the best thing about it. You might think one barbecue is the same as any other, they all cook meat, right, but that is simply not true.

First, the size of the grill. It is so nice to have not only ample grilling room but also enough surface area to help you put things where you want them to go and it also helps immensely with food prep. Yes, when you get the grill the parts are really heavy, but that is just because they are made so well. I love that it has stainless steel – I don’t know how many times I got a barbecue only to have it turn into a rust bucket and a total eyesore within a few months. I would cringe every time people went in the back yard.

So I don’t have to worry about the Weber breaking down or turning into a pile of junk. Instead, it’s something I want to show off to my friends. And it may seem expensive but it is totally worth it. I remember hearing once that “quality costs less” and it took me awhile to figure out what that meant. Now I get it.

When I think of the money I have spent over the years in buying grill after grill, because one of them rusts or the cheap plastic wheels fall off or the frame bends or it gets knocked over because it is so light and bends… I total all of that money up and realize that in the long run the Weber Genesis S-310 will actually save me money. Quality does indeed cost less.

Another quality feature of the grill is that it disperses the heat evenly which makes cooking the food so much easier. Now I can spend more time visiting and hanging out and not having to check every minute that the steaks aren’t burning to a crisp on the outside on one side while the inside stays raw.
